Introduction
Conservation is Good for Business and Our Communities
The guiding principle of Bridgestone founder Shojiro Ishibashi was "to serve society with superior quality.”
Bridgestone Americas continues to follow this guiding principle by creating safe, quality products in a manner that embraces careful and responsible management of our natural resources and the environment. The driving force behind this principle is conservation. We are committed to conservation, because it is good for business and for the world around us.
The quality products that we provide to customers require many natural resources. Natural resources are costly and many are finite in quantity. Conservation of these natural resources lowers our costs and allows us to pass the savings on to our customers. It also decreases our environmental impact.
At Bridgestone Americas, conservation goes beyond simply decreasing the amount of natural resources we use to create our products. Conservation extends to our operations, our teammate programs, and our activities in the community. Conservation is at the core of our company and positively reflects The Bridgestone Way: Trust and Pride.
As Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen stated in 2006: Bridgestone’s “focus on protection and stewardship is a hallmark of the company’s dedication to quality, and we are certainly fortunate to have corporate citizens of this caliber in Tennessee.”
We are proud of our environmental commitment, achievements, and recognition we’ve received. We invite you to find out more by accessing our Full Report.
